The year is about to close and for some reason, I feel like I’m at my weakest this month. Many things happened… Well, more of like a lot of things didn’t happen as planned. As much as I want to stay cheerful, I have to admit that I was overwhelmed easily (for good and bad reasons) this 2017.
Still, I’m trying to live up to the quote I’ve set for myself to follow this year:
Staying positive doesn’t necessarily mean being happy all the time. It just means that even when you’re feeling low, you know that it will end, and that there are better days on the other side. — HappierSuggestion
I’m starting to look for a quote to follow next year. If not, I’ll probably still follow the same. You might find it weird, but I keep myself sane when I have some sort of reminder. ww
A 360-degree Turn
You’ve probably noticed how much of a pessimist I am and I’m sorry for that. I’m trying to change, seriously. There are times when I feel like when I’m having too much fun, bad days will come haunting me later. But hey, we all have our bad days. It depends on how we handle it… which is I’m not good at. OTL
I travel long hours to and from work, and it keeps on getting worse. I’m truly thankful that there’s now a P2P service. Can you imagine spending more hours on the road that your average sleeping time becomes four hours? No wonder I’m always cranky lol. During one of my rides on the way home, I was reminded how much I hate corruption and how slow we get things done in this country.
Tokyo Zodiac Murders by Soji Shimada has been one of my favorite books since college. I went to Fully Booked with the intention of ordering that particular book only, but then I found out that they have a copy of No Longer Human by Dazai Osamu. Look what Bungou Stray Dogs made me do!
I got a Starbucks planner a week after the sticker collecting started. I’m not that into Starbucks, though I have to admit that their Green Tea Frappuccino and Chicken Pot Pie are sometimes my comfort food. They had a double sticker promo for three days and surprisingly, my workmates were supportive and gave all the stickers to me.
Canmake Talk by Ashley
Donna, Satsunyan, and I met up at SM Makati for Ashley‘s talk at Canmake’s pop-up booth. I got a free cheek and bronzer for being one of the first 10 attendees! Yay. It was a tough week for me and tbh I wanted to skip this, but I already made a promise to drop by. After all, I badly need a break. I need to go out.
After the talk, we ate at Yabu: House of Katsu in Glorietta. It has been a while since I had a big meal… literally a big meal with three refills of rice. Wew.
Movie and Purikura Date
My little sister and I went out to watch Coco. I had no idea what it was, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. I can’t believe a Disney film made me cry again. The short-film before it (Olaf’s Frozen Adventure) was cute, too.
Afterward, we had our purikura! I never had the chance to dress up when taking photos at purikura booths because we always decide on a whim. The booth is below the cinema, so the temptation is strong lol.
