The second part of our Ikebukuro food hopping is… NamjaTown! Instead of having desserts at J-World, we decided to go one floor down and get our sweet fix of a particular anime. I wouldn’t say I’m a die-hard fan of Yuri!!! on ICE, but many of its events coincide with our trip, so we don’t want to miss the chance.
What is NamjaTown?
NamjaTown is an indoor theme park produced by Namco. To be honest, I didn’t know about it until I heard that they’re doing a collaboration with Yuri!!! on ICE. I’ve read some blogs saying that it’s just a mishmash of themed areas + food stalls, and it actually is.
There’s an area that looks like a haunted house plus other places that seem to be child-friendly. My favorite was the mini living room setup, though we weren’t able to use it because someone’s using the table.
Yuri!!! on ICE Collab Food & Desserts
I wasn’t able to take a complete video of how they made the Makachin crepe, but as you can see, Makachin’s head is already pre-made. They simply used a brown whipped cream for his ears and paws. Orders kept on coming in as well that they can’t spare a minute to clean their workspace. It was indeed a best-seller.
It was fun to see it being made (even if I’ve been ordering crepes a lot when I was in college lol), though mine had a mess because the one preparing it was in a hurry.
We also got a free postcard. Yay! Btw, the store’s name is Crepe Paw. It’s a bit far back, but it’s easy to locate.
If you’re planning to taste all of Yuri!!! on ICE’s collaboration food and desserts, you have to roam around and look for little stands. They’re sometimes easy to miss if you don’t pay attention.
They were also selling limited edition items and Wataru Hatano’s You Only Live Once CD at the goods shop!
My first visit to NamjaTown wasn’t that bad, though I don’t think I’ll go here again if there isn’t any collaboration. Don’t get me wrong, though. They have great food selections. It’s like the food parks we have here, but a bit more extravagant.
