First of all, let me greet you all a Happy New Year! To be honest, I don’t know if there are people who are interested in reading my blogs. I find my life not-so-interesting (I think I mentioned this before), so thank you for bearing with me.
While many believe that 2016 is a fcked up year, let’s not focus on the negative and think more of the positive!
My Goals for 2017
- Take better care of myself, physically and mentally.
I’m anemic and always dehydrated yet I’m not doing something about my condition. There was a time when I almost fainted and had difficulty in breathing. Good thing, I was in a crowded area. The nurse said that apart from being anemic, the reason I’m not feeling well is probably stress-induced.
My goal for this year is to take better care of my health. Drink vitamins, drink plenty of water, and eat more food with iron. I’ll stay away from all sources of stress as much as possible. To be honest, I wouldn’t be so stressed if there’s no traffic in Manila (impossible!) and if the people I encounter to and from work are all civilized. Still, I’ll try my best not to be passive-aggressive!
- Lose weight and get back to 45kg.
I’ve never thought that this day will come. I often say, “What diet? I don’t need that. Food is love.” for the past few years. I was also skinny back then that losing weight was never my problem. Now, I have to get back in shape. Must be a sign of getting older. Huhu.
PSA: Not doing it for the sake of achieving the “ideal body type.” I simply want to lose some flab, so I can wear my old clothes again.
- Learn how to apply makeup better.
This. Has. Always. Been. A. Yearly. Goal. Idk what happened. I’m getting better at it, though. I think.
- Maintain my “no junk food and carbonated drinks” rule.
When I tell people that I don’t eat junk food and drink carbonated beverages anymore, most of them are shocked. In fact, they’re even more shocked to know that I’ve been doing it for six years. For me, it’s easy to let go because my tastebud’s preference has changed since college.

A good example is when I’m tempted to buy Milkis, a carbonated milk drink, from a nearby convenience store. Recently, due to Mystic Messenger’s influence, I’ve also been buying Honey Butter Chips and Dr. Pepper.
This is going to be the last time I’m mentioning this, I swear.
- Eat fast food only once in a month or two.
I don’t bring packed lunch to work since I travel by train. I buy food wherever, but I’m running out of choices. I don’t eat at fast food joints by choice. It’s just that I can’t always say no to my workmates whenever they decide where to eat. I’m still firm about saying no to McDonald’s, though. Haha.
My goal for this year is to eat healthier! I have workmates who are vegan and sometimes I’m tempted to ask what food they eat during lunch… hmm.
This post has been overdue. I was planning to finish and publish it at the strike of 12, but our dogs were too scared of the fireworks that I ended up comforting them for hours. I wasn’t able to eat anything, too. </3
