Brace yourselves for the cutest, highly-anticipated event of the year! Kawaii in Manila is back for a second run. And this time, in a bigger and better venue to feed your hunger for Japan’s remarkable culture.
What is Kawaii in Manila 2?
Kawaii in Manila is a day-long affair dedicated to promoting the interest and appreciation for the kawaii culture through various kawaii-related programs and activities. It’s an event that aims to unite people who share a common interest in Japanese culture, animation, fashion, and everything in between!
Kawaii in Manila 2 will take you to a magical portal where you can experience cuteness through Philippine fair x Japanese matsuri themed shows, contests, workshops, and activities. Come join us in munching on sweet Pocky treats, playing dress up, and kawaii-fying the normal. Let’s all show how wonderful a kawaii world can be! ~(˘▾˘~)
Kawaii, a term meaning “cute” in Japanese, is similar to living a youthful life full of fluffy, sparkly, and colorful things. Such lifestyle was difficult to achieve, but thanks to the Internet, it made a bridge that connects two worlds together.
This September 6, 2014, witness how the PH enjoys the best of worlds, as Kaila of Rainbowholic, Anne of The Craft of Anne Kate Pinero and KPP PH, and Chichi Romero of Little Miss Paintbrush brings you kawaii like you’ve never seen before. From artist illustrations to a wide range of exhibitors and sponsors, Kawaii in Manila 2 is an event you shouldn’t miss!
How to Get There
Whitespace Manila is located in front of Mead Johnson Nutrition Phils. Inc. at Chino Roces Avenue (formerly Pasong Tamo). The easiest way to get there is riding the MRT-3 to Magallanes Station, and then a jeepney with a “PRC” (Philippine Racing Club) sign.
Upon arriving at the station, exit at the south-bound lane going to Taft Avenue. Walk along EDSA — past San Lorenzo Place (Empire East) — until you reach Chino Roces Avenue. Wait for a jeepney and tell the driver to drop you off at Whitespace Manila.
It’s also possible to exit at the north-bound lane going to North Avenue. All you have to do is walk in front of Alphaland Southgate Mall and look for jeepneys passing through a small tunnel at the EDSA Magallanes Bridge.
An alternative route for private vehicles is driving along South Luzon Expressway (SLEX).
Don’t have enough money for the ticket? They got you covered! Join Kawaii PH’s giveaway and you might get a chance to win a ticket for you and your friend. Complete a few requirements to get entries and you’re done. The contest will run from July 20 to August 1 (1st leg) and August 2 to 15 (2nd leg).
Who said that Filipinos can’t be kawaii? As long as you have the confidence to put your best foot forward, you can be whoever you want to be. That’s what Kawaii in Manila 2 is all about. See you there kawaii girls and boys!
