An EPIC Adventure at Kapitolyo, Pasig

EPIC Cafe

Have you ever had this feeling of wanting to visit all the amazing coffee and pastry shops in Manila? I do. In fact, even if I’m not allowed to drink coffee anymore (I palpitate, unfortunately.), I still want to give them a visit. Coffee is a wonder drink after all.

The Shop

My friends and I visited EPIC Cafe at Kapitolyo, Pasig recently. It was recommended to us. They said that their Earl Grey ice cream is awesome, but we didn’t expect to see more.

The vintage interiors gave a really relaxing atmosphere. It feels like a different place. Definitely great for busy students and working professionals.

The Food

All their cakes looked so tempting (I want them all, please!) and it took us a few minutes to decide. Finally, we ordered a slice of Rainbow Cake and Strawberry Cheesecake. A Snapple drink for me, and I forgot to ask what drinks my friends ordered. Snapple is like those Sola drinks I buy at convenience stores, but less sweet. This is something new for me, then I found out that Family Mart offers it. Yay!

Rainbow Cake & Strawberry Cheesecake

Everyone took a bite of the Rainbow Cake and can you guess what happened next? Click at you own risk. I wasn’t able to eat the cake per color, so I’m not sure if every layer has a different taste. What we like about it more is the crumbs. Look at how colorful our plate is.

The Strawberry Cheesecake is slightly dry, but it’s kind of a good thing, I guess? I’m used to eat cheesecakes at Coffee Bean and theirs are soft that it melts in my mouth immediately. Their Strawberry Cheesecake, however, is thick yet creamy. In fact, I didn’t expect it to make my stomach full.

EPIC Homemade Ice Cream

Bad news, though. We really enjoyed the cakes that we forgot about dessert. Well, with our happy taste buds, we’ll definitely go back for these (and the cakes too!).

About EPIC Cafe:

From the creators of Poco Deli, comes Epic Cafè. Here at Epic we aim to make drinking coffee more of an indulgence – the coffee making process, an art.

EPIC Coffee Roastery is a story of coffee, bicycles, and the adventures of going back to food traditions… It is a community of artisans and artists. We roast our own coffee, we bake our own cakes, we make our own sausages, we now make our own ginger ale… The artisan is the hero.
